The mission of the University of Phoenix's School of Advanced Studies (SAS) is to “develop leaders who will create new models that
explain, predict, and improve organizational performance.” The National Research Center’s crisis communication study offers a framework
to understand organizational performance during the financial crisis. Utilizing the doctoral program’s Scholar, Practitioner, Leader
model, the study demonstrates how scholarly research can be used to influence policy decisions and assist in organizational decision-making.
