·         Stratified sampling – In collaboration with the NRC, 50% of students and faculty from the School of Advanced Studies (who represent practitioners from a wide variety of industries) received email invitations to participate in the study.

·         Snowball sampling – The study’s researchers sent email invitations, which contained a hyperlink to the online survey, to individuals in their professional networks. These referrals were asked to complete the survey as well as forward the invitation to other working adults in the United States.
